This weekend’s fleas were all about art: textiles, decorative plates, objet and wall hangings. From art deco to 18th century, it was everywhere!
Here are some of our favorite finds:
Stretched and framed, embroidered fabric looks amazing on walls.
It’s ancient, according to the sales man:)
Needs a new frame, but nothing like a cityscape to add some pizazz on the wall.
Plates are great on the table or on the wall!
We spend countless hours trucking all over New York–Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan–sourcing and buying for clients and one of our favorite things to do is look for buildings that we would love to have as a ‘live above the office’ space for a storefront and design studio. So the other day when we found ourselves shopping for rugs in SoHo and looked up and saw this building, we immediately said “THIS IS THE ONE!!” Girls can dream, can’t they?!!
For us, walls are just one more place to add texture and color to a beautiful room. Nicki and I believe that art is so much more than just a picture that hangs in a frame. Art can be almost anything! Here are a few current favorites to inspire you to think differently about your walls.
