To the beautiful Caribbean island(s) of Anguilla and St. Martin to recharge and relax for a week (and we’re looking forward to being away when the next ‘snow storm’ hits NYC!). Great coffee tables! This is one of those things that we are constantly on the hunt for and, while there isn’t a shortage of interesting options out there, finding the right one that is proportionally correct and compliments the overall design we are working to create–well, that’s another story. Here are some beauties that would look great in a variety of spaces.
While in Los Angeles, each morning we start the day with a invigorating hike. Each canyon has its own spirit and unique foliage and wildlife. We love Mandeville Canyon for its steep hills, desert like shrubs and jaw-draw dropping views of downtown LA and the Pacific. Fryman is like a tropical paradise with lush plants and beautiful song birds. We even made friends with a precocious partridge! Runyon Canyon is smack dab in the middle of Hollywood; it’s an urban hike for sure. Being outside is pure heaven for us. It’s a dose of green to last us until spring hits the east coast.

And, an orange tree (not a movie set, we promise!) that we marveled at on the walk back to the car at Fryman.
It’s certainly not the mundane things like doing paperwork, meeting with the accountant, or filing taxes…it’s the hour you unexpectedly find you have free! So on Friday when we found ourselves blissfully without obligation and near the Metropolitan Museum of Art, we very happily ducked in for a couple of hours to see old favorites and The Emperor’s Private Paradise: Treasures from the Forbidden City exhibition. Here are just a few of the things that we love and inspire us at the Met (with apologies for the not fantastic Iphone photos):

We are back in a still chilly NYC, but with sunny Los Angeles on our minds. The weather was brilliant, the food-delicious, and the scouting-hands down amazing. Our favorite discovery on this trip was Wertz Brother’s Antique Mart. Here are some of our favorite pieces from the store:
This reverse painted glass server has a faux-marble finish. Gorgeous!
This massive mirror had a frame that was about 12 inches deep. So fantastic!
Nicki found one of her most favorite things ever…an unbelievable brass bird sconce. We have never seen anything so spectacular!
Now this is a fantastic (and different) way to mount antlers! Why didn’t we think of this?
